Connecting you with qualified TCM practitioners and wellness professionals
The TCM Expert Network is the backbone of our content quality. It is a group of qualified Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners, academic researchers, and integrative wellness professionals who partner with The TCM Home to ensure everything we publish is accurate, safe, and authentically grounded in TCM theory.
Our Expert Network exists to bridge the gap between classical TCM knowledge and accessible English-language wellness education. Experts in the network contribute in three ways: reviewing articles before publication, writing guest content from their area of specialization, and answering community questions on Reddit and Quora. Every expert brings a unique perspective — whether from years of clinical practice, academic research, or cross-cultural integrative medicine.
We do not accept self-reported credentials at face value. Every prospective expert goes through a three-step verification process before joining the network.
We verify degrees, certifications, and training history. This includes checking accredited TCM schools, NCCAOM certifications, state licenses, and academic appointments.
We verify active licensure with the appropriate state or national regulatory board. For practitioners outside the US, we verify with the equivalent local authority.
Prospective experts submit sample writing or video content. Our editorial team reviews for TCM accuracy, clarity, safety awareness, and alignment with our educational mission.
Once vetted, experts participate in the network in ways that match their expertise and availability.
Experts review articles in their specialty area before publication. They check TCM theory accuracy, acupoint locations, food property descriptions, safety considerations, and appropriate use of terminology. Reviews are documented and tracked.
Experts may write guest articles or record video content sharing their clinical experience and specialized knowledge. Guest content is clearly attributed and includes the expert's credentials and bio.
Experts participate in our Reddit community (r/TCMwellness) and answer questions on Quora. This brings professional insight directly to people who have real TCM questions.
Our experts come from diverse backgrounds in clinical practice, academic research, and integrative medicine. Each brings a unique perspective to TCM education.

Every health-related article on The TCM Home goes through a structured expert review process. Here is how it works:
Our editorial team researches and drafts the article, grounding all content in classical TCM texts and modern sources. The draft includes all acupoint locations, food properties, herbal references, and safety notes.
The draft is assigned to an expert in the relevant specialty. For example, a sleep article goes to an expert who specializes in insomnia patterns; a food therapy article goes to a food therapy specialist.
The expert reviews TCM theory accuracy, point locations, food property descriptions, contraindications, and safety considerations. They provide feedback, corrections, and additions using our review system.
The editorial team incorporates the expert's feedback. If significant changes were made, the revised draft goes back to the expert for a second review. This continues until the expert approves.
The published article includes a "Reviewed by" credit with the expert's name and credentials, along with a "Last Reviewed" date. The article enters our ongoing review cycle for periodic updates.
Explore articles and guides that have been reviewed by our network experts. Each piece carries a "Reviewed by" credit and a review date.
